Gareth Southgate hires friend of Sir Jim Ratcliffe as new advisor after leaving England national team
Gareth Southgate has hired a new advisor, a friend of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, to help him decide on his next destination after leaving the England national team.
A few days ago, Gareth Southgate officially bid farewell to the England national team, ending an 8-year tenure as head coach of the Three Lions.
Recently, after becoming a free agent, the 53-year-old strategist sought advice from Jimmy Worrall, a close friend of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, regarding his future plans.
According to The Sun, Southgate has officially appointed Jimmy Worrall as his new representative, after parting ways with his previous agent, Terry Byrne.
Worrall is the founder and chairman of Leaders in Sport, a company that organizes global networking events. He also works as a consultant and has advised companies like INEOS and the European Club Association.
The Mirror reports that the former England head coach has known Worrall for many years, and the Leaders in Sport boss was involved in negotiating Southgate’s exit from the England team. Worrall will continue to support Southgate in his future coaching career.
According to the British press, Southgate might be linked with Manchester United for a role at the club, but certainly not as a replacement for head coach Erik Ten Hag. Additionally, he has a close relationship with Sir Dave Brailsford, who facilitated Dan Ashworth’s appointment at Old Trafford.
Thus, it is highly likely that with a new representative, Gareth Southgate will also seek a new job for himself, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be as the head coach of a club or national team.
