The England national team has played below expectations in the first two matches at Euro 2024, but Harry Kane has fully supported coach Gareth Southgate.
Gareth Southgate is still “absolutely” the right man for the job.
That is the opinion of Harry Kane, as Southgate has faced much criticism for the Three Lions‘ poor results after the first two matches at Euro 2024. Kane also enthusiastically talked about how the 53-year-old coach manages the team and how he has transformed the fate of national football over the past eight years.
He said: “I can’t overstate Gareth and what he has done for the national team. If you look at the FIFA rankings and our current position, they are completely different.”
“He is excellent in ensuring that no stone is left unturned, everyone knows what they will do when they step into the matches. It’s like he gives us the freedom to be ourselves in the games, whether it’s off the field or on the pitch.”
“Being the England coach is a really tough job, he knows that, and we know that. But he is absolutely the right man for the job.”
“There will always be critics or doubters, but his record speaks for itself; it has been a success for us. But like all of us, Gareth is determined to move forward and win, which is what we are all truly determined to do.”
“He will do what is best for the country and make the best decisions for the team. All I want to say is to support him as the players do.”
The England national team’s final group match will take place at 8:00 PM on June 25 against Slovenia.
