Kylian Mbappe wants to buy his French national team teammate N’Golo Kante’s former club after moving to Real Madrid.
The French player has just completed his transfer to Real Madrid, where he is expected to earn £12.8 million per year after tax.
However, recent reports suggest that Kylian Mbappe may take on the role of owning a football club.
According to RMC Sport, the French national team captain is eyeing a deal to purchase the French club Stade Malherbe Caen. The club’s co-owner, Pierre-Antoine Capton, has revealed that the club is looking for a new owner.
The Sun adds that the ownership could come under Mbappe’s family company, KM7.
SM Caen has played in Ligue 2 since being relegated from the top league in 2019.
Interestingly, SM Caen’s owner once made significant efforts to recruit Kylian Mbappe when he was just 11 years old but was unsuccessful.
Although they didn’t get Mbappe at that time, SM Caen has had many international stars play for them in the past. The brightest star is former Chelsea and Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante, who played alongside Mbappe at Euro 2024 before Les Blues were eliminated by Spain in the semifinals.
Additionally, Thomas Lemar and Raphael Guerreiro are other notable stars who have played for SM Caen.
