On the morning of August 1st (UK time), Manchester United faced Real Betis in a summer 2024 friendly match.
Both teams started the game with an open and attacking mindset, creating several dangerous chances from both sides.
In the 15th minute, after a not-so-difficult shot from Rodri, goalkeeper Tom Heaton made a mistake by fumbling the ball, which bounced back to Rodri. The Spanish player passed it across for Rosada to score, putting Real Betis ahead.
Trailing behind, Manchester United quickly regained control of the match. In the 18th minute, they were awarded a penalty after Diallo was fouled in the box. Rashford successfully converted from the spot, equalizing the score at 1-1.
Riding the wave of momentum, Manchester United scored two more goals. In the 24th minute, Amass delivered a precise pass to Diallo, who powerfully finished inside the box, making it 2-1.
Just seven minutes later, the score was increased to 3-1 for Erik ten Hag’s team. From a corner kick, Rashford assisted Casemiro, who scored from close range. This was the final score of the first half.
In the second half, the game continued at a fast pace. However, Manchester United couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.
Conversely, Real Betis narrowed the score to 2-3 in the 61st minute. From a cross from the right flank, Diego Llorente leaped to head the ball into Manchester United’s net. The remaining time saw both teams battling fiercely, with the narrow one-goal margin. However, no additional goals were scored.
In the end, Manchester United won 3-2 against Real Betis. Up to this point, Erik ten Hag’s team has secured two wins and one loss in their 2024 summer tour.
