Recently, MU reported sad news, Luke Shaw provided an update on his injury to England team ahead of Euro 2024.
Since sustaining his latest injury in the match against Luton in February, Luke Shaw has been sidelined for treatment. He has only appeared in 12 Premier League games this season. Prior to this, a muscle injury had already sidelined him for the first few weeks of the season.
Due to his injury, Luke Shaw has been unable to join his teammates during the critical final phase of the season. He could only watch Manchester United’s FA Cup success from the stands at Wembley.
Shaw is still included in England’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024. However, whether he will recover in time to join the team in Germany this summer remains uncertain, especially after his latest statement on Instagram:
“This has definitely been the most frustrating season for me. I have been training very hard to regain my fitness, but things have not gone as planned. The reality is that I am not 100% fit right now, but I am doing everything I can and continuously pushing myself to achieve that.”
“I am grateful for your patience. My biggest goal is to fully recover and be ready for whatever happens this summer. Thank you all for your constant support,” Luke Shaw added.
Losing Luke Shaw could be a significant blow for England team ahead of Euro 2024, as the MU star is currently the best left-back. Coach Gareth Southgate previously made a rather puzzling decision by calling up mainly right-backs and center-backs.
If Luke Shaw is indeed unavailable, England might be without a true left-back for Euro 2024. In that case, Kieran Trippier or Joe Gomez might have to play out of position to fill this role.
