Manchester United is close to completing the signing of 16-year-old Arsenal forward Chido Obi-Martin. Obi-Martin announced on Instagram on Monday night that he would be leaving Arsenal this summer.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone at Arsenal over the past four years. The experiences and development I have gained here are truly invaluable. A special thank you to the coaches, staff, and teammates at Hale End. The memories made will always be remembered,” the Arsenal wonderkid wrote on X.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Obi-Martin has accepted Manchester United’s offer, despite receiving a higher financial offer from a German club. He was persuaded by United’s development project, even though there were other financially attractive options.

Carlo Ancelotti Confirms Real Madrid Will Not Buy More Players This Summer

In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about Real Madrid’s efforts to sign a new center-back. The departures of Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin have left the team with only three options for this position: Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, and Jesus Vallejo.

David Alaba is another option, but he may not complete his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury until late this year or 2025.

Real Madrid missed out on top target Leny Yoro, who joined Manchester United. Following this, it was reported that the club would not pursue anyone else.

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed this in his first press conference of the summer, during the club’s preseason tour in the United States.

“The squad is complete. Vallejo is back, Alaba is recovering. We have young players: Joan, Jacobo, and Raul (Asencio). No one will leave because everyone wants to stay.”

Arsenal Intensifies Pursuit of Mikel Merino

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal has been interested in Merino since before the Euros, and his performances for Spain in Germany have proven that he can make an impact in the Premier League.

Although Merino is also attracting interest from Spanish clubs due to a reasonable contract with Real Sociedad, Arsenal may increase their interest after signing Calafiori.

Merino remains a key target and would be an excellent addition to the team. He would bring important versatility under Mikel Arteta and could enhance the Gunners’ options on the left side for the upcoming season.

Chelsea Set to Sign Their Eighth Summer Recruit

According to reports from Brazil, Chelsea is currently in negotiations to sign Brazilian teenager Gabriel Mec, who plays for Gremio.

Brazilian radio station Radio Bandeirantes reports that Chelsea plans to spend around €20 million to acquire the attacking midfielder. Specifically, Chelsea’s offer includes €7 million in fixed transfer fees and €13 million in add-ons. Notably, Gremio may retain 15% of Mec’s rights.

Mec has made six appearances in the Brazilian U20 Championship, and if the deal is completed, he will only be able to join Chelsea when he turns 18.
