Ronaldo recognized as the GOAT ahead of Euro 2024

The Portugal national team has praised Cristiano Ronaldo for setting an incredible record in an Al Nassr jersey.

The Portuguese national team’s X (Twitter) account recently praised Cristiano Ronaldo following the legendary player’s impressive season. The A Seleccao forward scored a brace against Al-Ittihad in the early hours of May 28, bringing his total goals for the season to 35.

This number surpasses the previous record of 34 goals set by Abderrazak Hamdallah during the 2018/19 season. Hamdallah also played for Al Nassr and achieved this feat in 27 matches, while Ronaldo needed 31 matches to reach his milestone.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s career is filled with record-breaking seasons, and the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League is no exception.

In light of CR7’s impressive goal-scoring achievement, the Portuguese national team tweeted a post to honor their captain’s accomplishment, also affirming Ronaldo as the GOAT (Greatest of All Time): “Continuing to break records (with a GOAT emoji).”

Al Nassr won 4-2 against Al-Ittihad in the final match of this Saudi Pro League season. However, they finished second in the standings with 82 points, trailing Al-Hilal by 14 points.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 58 goals and provided 15 assists in 63 appearances for Al Nassr since he joined in 2023.

With his recent consistent goal-scoring form, Ronaldo is clearly expected to lead the Portugal national team to glory at Euro 2024. The forward, born in 1985, currently holds the record for the most international goals scored (125 goals). Additionally, he is the top scorer in Euro history, leading the scoring charts with 14 goals in 25 matches.
